Not a very good time to be a Drake stan, it seems. Lately, the award-winning rapper has been going through a rough stretch in the industry. Not only has his musical career taken a hit, with none of his releases creating the kind of frenzy Drake was once known for, but the list of his foes seems to be on the rise as well. Recently, the rapper faced another wave of disses from A$AP Rocky, who has had a long history with Drake that dates back to the early 2010s.

As A$AP Rocky dropped his new track, 'Ruby Rosary,' he made sure to include some shots aimed at Drake.

A$AP Rocky recently premiered his first official collaboration with J. Cole on the track 'Ruby Rosary'. In the track, one of Rocky’s verses said, “I heard dawg talkin' funny, like it's Family Guy.” And anyone who knows Drake knows how much he enjoys mentioning his friends as his “dogs” or “dawg” in his music. Rocky also referenced “Top 5” in the track, saying, “F*** your top 5.”

This was a nod to Drake’s 2020 comment under an Instagram post by Hush, where the rapper gave fans a look into his top five all-time rappers. The list included a lineup of Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Andre 3000, The Notorious B.I.G., and OVO Hush. Connecting the dots, it would not be wrong to speculate a supposed diss at Drake by A$AP Rocky. Nonetheless, the two rappers’ relationship was not always this sour.

Drake and A$AP Rocky went from being friends in the industry to dissing each other through tracks- all because of an alleged romantic inclination towards the same woman. 

Drake and A$AP Rocky have been tied into a cold war ever since the former appeared to diss Rihanna on the 'For All the Dogs' track, 'Fear of Heights.' However, they used to be friends once. In fact, in some ways, Drake was to A$AP Rocky what Ye, aka Kanye West was to Travis Scott, as many credit the 'God’s Plan' rapper for the Harlem-born rapper's subsequent success in the music industry. However, their relationship soon took a sour turn.

Drake and Rihanna have had a quite complicated relationship in the past, and to this day, no one can confirm if their equation was purely platonic or if there was more to the story. However, when A$AP Rocky started dating Rihanna, his relationship with Drake also took a hit- so much so that they have now resorted to dissing each other. And after these recent shots from Rocky’s side, the odds of the duo mending fences seem to get slimmer by the day.
