The political scene in the States is like a pressure cooker ready to blow, getting more intense by the minute. The tension has crashed right into the playlists of our favorite artists. In a hilarious twist, former President Donald Trump tried to play the AI puppet master, claiming Taylor Swift was on his team, but she jumped right into the Democrat camp just a week ago, leaving that strategy in the dust. However, Trump does not easily give up; now he has his eyes on two new musical sidekicks, Playboi Carti and The Weeknd, to play his game.

With the music industry revving its engines this election season, it looks like Trump’s trying to hitch a ride on these fresh faces to keep his campaign rolling.

This year’s political whirlwind has left no one in the record industry unscathed, even though they seem like two totally different universes. After several swing-and-a-miss attempts to recruit Taylor Swift, Donald Trump is diving headfirst into the music scene. He just dropped a TikTok campaign video featuring Playboi Carti and The Weeknd’s banger ‘Timeless,’ mixing in some highlights from his journey as a Republican leader.

Before this, Trump really brought pop to politics with a trio track release featuring Fivio Foreign and Kodak Black, titled ‘ONBOA47RD,’ leaving all other political plot twists in the dust. While his connection to the music scene is not exactly breaking news, his efforts to snag relevance by diving into the world of beats and rhymes show just how determined he is to grab that seat at the White House as if he is trying to turn every campaign stop into a chart-topping hit.

After facing a whirlwind of scrutiny, backlash, and burning questions, Taylor Swift officially threw her support behind Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for the upcoming US Presidential elections. Naturally, Trump was less than thrilled. He took to Truth Social to air his grievances, dropping a very direct, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” But her fans flipped the script in the ultimate plot twist. According to Fortune, they used memes and "lyric response ideas" to raise over $40,000 for Harris’ campaign.

Carly Long, a member of their communication team, stated, “Swifties know that haters gonna hate, but we also know we can do more than just shake, shake, shake.” And they sure did—last month alone, they added another $100,000 to the pot, bringing their total to a whopping $207,000 since they began their fundraising efforts. While having Swift on Team Trump would have been a serious trump card, it is anyone’s guess if his new approach will shine as brightly as Swift does.
