Kanye West is a living legend in hip-hop and has proved it from time to time. However, in the past two years, the singer has made no new album or solo songs. There have been talks that Ye is crafting a new full-length album and people close to him have apparently listened to some parts of it. But fans have only waited, and there has been no specific timeline for when the new album will drop.

X (formerly Twitter) user Hip Hop All Day recently rolled out a list of artists who surpassed 60 million monthly listeners on Spotify. It included famous faces like Drake, Travis Scott, Doja Cat, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage, and Metro Boomin. But this time Kanye West joined them and it was indeed surprising considering he has not rolled out a new album for two years. The last album Ye released to the public was ‘Donda’, in August 2021 and it topped the Billboard 200.
This achievement points out the sheer loyalty of his fans. Despite his announcing or canceling the release of the upcoming album several times, they continued to cherish his previous songs. In fact, legendary actor and musician Will Smith has been obsessed with West’s music as well. In his podcast episode Class of ’88, his son Jaden Smith recalled his fascination with the album ‘Watch the Throne’.
This, however, was not the first time he made history on Spotify.

In 2021, Kanye West, who goes by the name Ye now, took over the minds of fans with the album ‘Donda’. Not only did it break records on charts, but revived older albums of the singer on Spotify, making him the only artist to reach one million with ten albums. These albums included ‘The College Dropout’, ‘808s & Heartbreak’, ‘Late Registration’, ‘Graduation’, ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, ‘Yeezus’, ‘Ye’, ‘Watch The Throne’, and ‘The Life of Pablo’.
As of now, the Atlanta-born superstar is gearing up for the release of his new collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign. The latter has shared several updates on it in recent months. Many musicians have already heard the tracks but were asked to not share the information with tabloids, leakers, and fan pages. So fans can only hope that the day comes soon and until then they can continue to stream him on Spotify.
