Despite Kendrick Lamar Diss Win, Drake Has the Last Laugh
While this year entailed the return of legends such as Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, Will Smith, and the real Slim Shady Eminem himself, it was the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef that took home the trophy. More specifically, it was Kendrick Lamar and his relentless pursuit to prove that he is in fact, the biggest hater that ended up washing over everything.
Despite effectively leaving no space safe for Drake, there was one spot that Kendrick Lamar simply could not touch, perhaps due to his metaphorical stature or the multitude of successes that have been Drake's years in the industry.

While no official prizes were deposited, except of course, the waterfall of money that came ringing in as the artists removed copyright, it was pretty clear as Kendrick Lamar dropped the music video of 'Not Like Us' and got jam-packed stadiums roaring his diss track for Drake, that the latter is not the winner. However, Drake has still managed to pull himself out of the mud gracefully, as he earned more than 10 billion streams on Spotify just this year.
The 10 billion streams are truly surprising considering that Drake did not even drop an album this year, and most artists have to sweat it out before a single, let alone an album, attains this milestone. This definitely goes on to show that despite the uproar of 'Not Like Us' and 'Euphoria', Drake still holds a high seat in the rap world.
While his Spotify record speaks for itself, Drake still has some cleaning up to do after himself, if not for his sake, then at least for his fans.

The era before Kendrick Lamar dropped the now iconic diss tracks seemed to be a whole different world where Drake was loved far and wide, not just for his music but also for his hilarious streams. However, as he failed to give it back to Kendrick Lamar as the entire world was watching, fans could not help but feel disappointed while also hoping that something bigger lies ahead.
As the artist renovated his Instagram profile, fans were on the tip of their toes expecting him to come back with a surprise music announcement akin to Ye. However, Drake, after his failed attempt at dissing Kendrick Lamar, has opted for silence, only clearing his image through celebrity friends like Camila Cabello.
