Despite Failing to Secure a Spot in 2023, Kanye West Ranks 2nd in Billboard for This Coveted Title of All-Time
Kanye West has notably been absent from the public eye in 2023, largely due to his tendency to court controversies. This absence has taken a toll on his once-flourishing career, causing him to miss out on several notable achievements, which were filled by his biggest competitor in the music industry, Taylor Swift. While Swift went on to achieve one milestone after another, Kanye West’s fans had all their hopes stuck on his upcoming album ‘Vultures’ which is about to release in just two weeks.
Despite West’s relatively quiet musical presence this year, he somehow still managed to secure a prestigious spot on the all-time Billboard chart.

Kanye West recently got the second spot on Billboard’s Greatest Rap Producers of All Time list. In the early 2000s, Kanye West revolutionized rap with his unique use of soulful singles and served as the secret weapon of artists like Jay-Z and Roc-A-Fella. His production method pushed the boundaries of hip-hop and also blended diverse influences and unexpected collaborators. With an impressive 24 Grammy Awards and the Billboard staff’s No. 1 album of the 2010s, Kanye West became the topmost candidate for this honor.
Now, more than two decades into his illustrious career, West still boasts the same kind of impact as he had in the initial. This can be seen clearly from the heartfelt anticipation surrounding his upcoming album, despite the series of controversies he has created in recent times. Nevertheless, ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, still remained the crown jewel in his resume. And it is not just Billboard who agrees to it.
Boomin, who considers Kanye West as one of his biggest inspirations, loved the 2010 album so much that he likened it to his upcoming project.

Metro Boomin has not only been a collaborator of Kanye West but has also been his staunch supporter. He has been on record appreciating the ‘Donda’ rapper for his musical genius. Recently, the American record producer also shared his two favorite albums by Kanye West– ‘Graduation’ and ‘The College Dropout’. This came days after Boomin compared Ye’s popular album to his upcoming project, earlier this month.
A fan on X, formerly Twitter, a fan asked Metro Boomin whether he could ever craft music similar to West’s ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. To which Boomin replied in the positive. He also informed the fan that his upcoming project has the same vibe as the 2010 album. With a joint album being underway, old albums being revived by top record producers, and a Billboard achievement, is it safe to say that Kanye West is about to make an ultimate comeback to the industry?
