Despite Delay Drama, ‘Vultures’ Takes Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign Soaring to the Top
After two listening parties, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign finally dropped ‘Vultures’ for streaming, even if a few hours late. Close on the heels of the Super Bowl, the freshly debuted album soon grabbed fans in a frenzy and kept social media abuzz. Most importantly, the release culminated the months of longing laden with rumors that started as back as early 2023. Furthermore, it also paved the way for a wider comeback of the rapper, provided that his last tour happened back in 2016.
In the meantime, as fans shared their reactions and reviews to the song catalog, the album quickly took flight for the heights.

Promised to drop on February 9, the first volume of ‘Vultures’ missed its deadline by a little close to 12 hours. Regardless, with 15 songs in its kitty and a runtime of 50 minutes, the album went live on Apple Music and other major streaming platforms, barring Spotify and YouTube Music. In a bold show of his musical influence, in less than 12 hours, Ye’s latest album has already gone ahead to claim the #1 spot on Apple’s iTunes.
Interestingly, the sheer hype for the album also put the rapper as well as ‘Vultures’ trending prominently on major social media sites. With a sufficiently positive enough reception, the drop has cleared the way for the next two volumes of the album to follow. As stated by West earlier, the entire set will contain three volumes including the just-released one, and feature a whole collaboration with big as well as emerging names in rap.
As discussions centered on ‘Vultures’, a quiet update on a solo Kanye West album quickly flew by, largely unnoticed.

In a recent interview on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, music producer and rapper, Erick Sermon spilled the beans on a solo Kanye West album named ‘Y3’. The musician also announced that he held discussions with the ‘Donda’ singer back on May 30, 2023, on the solo album, and plans stood well in motion to go ahead in that direction. However, somewhere between Kanye West’s shift from Japan to Italy, the switch to ‘Vultures’ happened.
Sermon noted how Ty Dolla $ign was already present in his next meet with Ye following which they turned a few beats for the solo album into ‘Vultures’. Additionally, he also stated that Y3 has not received a cancellation. Rather, in his words, he stayed hopeful that “when this (Vultures) is done, we get back to the ‘Y3’”.
