Donald Trump and Taylor Swift’s animosity has become increasingly apparent over the years. While they occupy very different spheres in their professions, they often take subtle- and sometimes not-so-subtle- jabs at each other. This year, as the songstress publicly threw her support behind Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party, Donald Trump fully unveiled himself as a Taylor Swift hater with a bold statement on social media. However, it seems his family is not entirely on the same page. 

While the former president made his feelings about Swift perfectly clear, daughter Ivanka Trump chose to attend the singer’s concert anyway. 

Ivanka Trump was spotted at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Miami, Florida, last month. According to reports, she attended Hard Rock Stadium to see Swift perform live with her 13-year-old daughter Arabella, and some friends. It was also the show where the ‘Cruel Summer’ star praised Kamala Harris, Donald Trump's rival. This happened just weeks after Trump publicly declared his dislike for Swift on social media. 

Chances are, it was due to Ivanka Trump's daughter's love for Swift, that pushed her to attend the concert. Earlier this year, Taylor Swift backed Kamala Harris, calling her a “gifted leader” who would steer the country with “calm and not chaos.” In response, Trump unleashed his feelings in all caps, writing, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” on his Truth Social platform. While Trump’s outburst caught the attention of many, Swifties managed to turn that negativity into a rallying cry for support for Swift’s chosen candidate.

With Donald Trump’s disparaging words, Swifties raised a huge sum for Kamala Harris to assist her in the upcoming presidential election.

After Donald Trump went on a real tirade on social media, a group of Taylor Swift fans jumped at the chance to raise over $40,000 for the Kamala Harris campaign. They pulled this off by creating a mix of memes and lyric response ideas, as had been reported by Fortune. This is the same group that reported a $100,000 jump in campaign contributions back in August.

In total, they have now raised over $207,000 since starting their fundraising and outreach efforts. But that is not all. Taylor Swift’s Instagram post, which included a link for voter registration, led to a massive spike of 400,000 visitors to Vote.gov within just 24 hours of her posting it. With the ongoing drama between Donald Trump and Taylor Swift, it is yet to be seen how this will affect the upcoming presidential election.
