As a result of his split with several fashion houses, Ye’s finances have taken a severe blow. The after-effect of which can be felt through the multiple cases filed by his former employees or hiree. According to NewYorkPost, a Manhattan Supreme Court Judge named Gerald Lebovits has ordered him to pay $300,000 to Katelyn Moone. The photographer was hired by Ye for his SHDZ shoot back in 2022.
The Brooklyn-based freelancer was supposed to be paid $100,000 for her work, although she ended up only with $15,000. Her multiple texts to his team went unheard and the artist choose not to be present at the court either. As per the court papers, she maxed out on her credit bills, had unpaid rent, and went through hardships, looking after her three children.
After missing out on the court dates, the Judge finally ruled the decision to levy Ye with the amount. While $95,000 is the actual unpaid amount, the remaining $205,000 is to be paid for statutory damages.
While the SHDZ project is not infamous due to the recent legal battle, when it was first announced, the line garnered much attention.
