Could North West Beat a 60-Year-Old Stevie Wonder Record by Featuring in Kanye West’s ‘Vultures’?
The latter half of 2023 brought about a renewal of fate for the Kanye West fandom. After months of anticipation, rumors, and talks, the rapper finally previewed his upcoming Ty Dolla $ign collaboration, ‘Vultures’ at the 12th December Miami rave party. However, a celebrated surprise awaited the audience as his 10-year-old daughter with ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, took the stage briefly to lip-sync to her debut verse in a rap album. Now, on the cusp of the album dropping, the child prodigy looks set to take on none other than Stevie Wonder.
The massively influential music mogul could soon lose out on one of his long-standing records if Ye happened to fulfill just one small condition.

Stevie Wonder holds a record set in 1963, at just 13 years of age, for the youngest artist to debut a No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with ‘Fingertips’. In 2024, with the ‘Vultures’ drop closing in, if Kanye West provides an album credit to North West for her previewed song, ‘You Don’t Want (North Interlude)’ then she could easily take that record with a margin of over 3 years.
A pioneer in the genres of R&B, pop, soul, gospel, funk, and jazz, Stevie Wonder stands as a force to be reckoned with within the music industry. Thus, the 10-year-old clinching such a record will not only add feathers to her rap debut but also give her a winning credence for her career ahead. Featuring alongside James Blake, the confirmation of whether the final cut of Ye’s album debuts with his daughter’s verse has received no clear light.
While North West eyes a potential milestone, the rapper dropped a massive surprise with his latest album news.

After the Miami rave, a pre-save listing on Apple Music seemingly confirmed Kanye West dropping ‘Vultures’ on 15th December. However, with the album withdrawn and no clear date in sight, fans took to major disappointment. Coming to their aid, the ‘Donda’ rapper announced three volumes of ‘Vultures’ set to drop on three separate dates starting from the first release on February 9.
Furthermore, with Ye dropping hints at new artists like JPEGMAFIA and Paris Texas, sufficient credibility lies in their potential collaboration for the upcoming sets. In the meantime, West has taken to matters close to his heart. In the last few days, he has filled up his social media feeds with his love songs along with his wife, Bianca Censori, showcasing strong bonding and support before the album debut.
