“Completely blindsided”- Taylor Swift’s Ex Reacts After the Songstress Allegedly Addressed Him on ‘Fortnight’ and Other ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ Songs
When Taylor Swift released her 11th studio album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, she not only skyrocketed to the top of the charts but also ventured into uncharted territory entirely on her own. Having called some shots on her past lovers like Matty Healy and Joe Alwyn, the album raided a never-seen-before league with explicit diss tracks in its catalog. Though Healy addressed the tracks previously after being approached by the tabloids, a recent claim has undone his previous response.
Healy’s latest response has raised some eyebrows and underscores his being caught off guard by some contents of Swift’s album.

Earlier, Matty Healy was approached by Entertainment Tonight to address the rumored “diss track”, which is also the title track Taylor Swift released with her record-breaking album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’. Although his response back then did not cause turbulence on the media radar, his newest one has. In a recent conversation with US Weekly, a friend of Healy’s has revealed that the 1975 singer has “mixed reactions” to the record which allegedly left him “completely blindsided”.
The source disclosed that although Healy enjoys the attention on him since Swift mentioned him, he acknowledges that it is quite “hilarious” because they were never as “serious” as portrayed. Moreover, Healy allegedly feels ambushed in regard to the mention of the discussions on marriage and children. Referencing the track ‘Loml’, the friend added, that Healy is taking it in “stride” about the things she said about “baby carriages… and living together”.
Swift indeed has lyrical Easter eggs planted all over her 31 tracks in ‘The Tortured Poets Department’. However, Healy’s feeling of being dumbfounded negates his initial response to the album.

In an interview with US Weekly in April, a source of Matty Healy’s disclosed his sense of “relief” following the release of Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’. The insider informed that Healy has always held Swift in the highest regard but had some apprehensions about the content of her lyrics. However, after she did release her album, Healy was genuinely pleased with the record.
Another source admitted that Healy was deeply grateful for the early notification from Swift’s team about the record. Initially, Healy had worried that their relationship might cast him in a negative light, especially to Swift's fans, who might not fully understand their story. However, the source clarified that those concerns were dispelled when Swift released the album. Despite these revelations, his recent expression of apprehension has undermined those assurances, prompting questions about whether Healy truly feels as stated.
