Can Billie Eilish Hand Taylor Swift the Upset of the Season at Grammy Awards 2024?
2023 seemed to be the year of Taylor Swift. From her record-breaking album re-releases and a traveling world tour to the concert film, the Pop sensation dominated headlines. After winning the most awards last year, the singer faced one loss to Greta Gerwig’s Barbie at the Golden Globes. Now, with the Grammy’s not too far away, fans are wondering if Billie Eilish’s track for the song could end up beating the singer at the awards show.
After facing multiple snubs from the Oscars, could Barbie make it up by Billie Eilish winning Record of the Year instead of Taylor Swift?

Earlier this month, the world watched as Barbie was snubbed at the Oscar nominations. However, Billie Eilish ended up winning the best original song for ‘What Was I Made For?’ in the Margot Robbie film during the Golden Globes. Now, the song has a chance to beat Taylor Swift’s ‘Anti-Hero’ at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Both the 22-year-old and the 34-year-old have been nominated for Record of the Year. Although it is more likely that the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer will dominate the awards show once again, the ‘Ocean Eyes’ singer has a chance at the crown.
Apart from these two artists, SZA, Miley Cyrus, and even Olivia Rodrigo are considered to be competing for the award. While the world might have loved Barbie and what it stood for, Swift has proved time and time again that it is her world and everyone else is only living it in. If the ‘Ours’ singer bags record of the year once again, it would bring her award total to 13. However, she might not just end up going home with only one.
While Swift broke a surprising record with her 7th nomination for Record of the Year, it was not the only category she ended up being nominated for.

Apart from going up against Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift will also be competing against various other musicians in different categories. While she might have Record of the Year in the bag, fans will still have to see what else she wins. Last year, it was revealed that the 34-year-old had also been nominated for Song of the Year and Album of the Year. Though she swept last year’s VMA’s with ‘Anti-Hero’, there is no saying what could happen now.
While it might be rather difficult going up against so many up-and-coming new artists, the ‘Mine’ singer has proved time and time again that she can hold her own. However, one thing is certain; there is no way that Swift will be going home empty-handed.
