Taylor Swift took home a big prize, or, say, 10 of them.

The songwriter added 10 more accolades to her collection and expressed her gratitude to her fellow Swifties for their unwavering support. The accolades made her the most successful female winner, only trailing Morgan Wallen, who had 11 wins. The fact that the singer was nominated for 20 categories and won ten of them demonstrates the enchantment she has with her fans.

The Bangtan Boys have not released as a band since they went on a hiatus. But even after a year, their admirers, dubbed the Army, continue to rally behind them. As a result of this support, the group now holds the record for the most Billboard awards won by a group, with 12 awards to their credit. The popularity is understandable considering that, unlike the Grammys, the Billboard Awards assign more value to digital music sales and streaming. This demonstrates that music transcends linguistic barriers and borders.

The award ceremony was especially noteworthy because Jungkook, the group’s ‘maknae’, won big for his debut solo single, ‘Seven.’ The song includes American singer-songwriter Latto and South Korean actress Han So Hee. Since its release in July, the song has dominated the global music charts for multiple months. Another member of the group, Jimin, was nominated for the Global K-pop Artist Award; however, he was defeated by the 4th generation K-pop group New Jeans, who had initially made their debut in the awards in 2022.

Although the boy band is only ten years old, the ‘Love Story’ singer has had a long musical career. Given these considerations, it is easy to conclude that the vocalist has the upper hand when comparing accolades.

Taylor Swift was undoubtedly the frontrunner for the yearly awards, but she exceeded everyone’s expectations with her ten wins. What’s more noteworthy is that the performer has won multiple times in different categories. For example, it was her third victory in the Top Artist category, which she shares with Drake. Swift also won awards for Top Hot 100 Songwriter, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, and many others.

The boy band, on the other hand, has 12 Billboard Music Awards to their name. While the number of awards that BTS received at Billboard 2023 may have been comparatively lesser than that of Taylor Swift, they have a bigger accolade to their names. Much like how many, including sensational musical artists, themselves credit Taylor Swift for reviving pop star culture, BTS also holds the crown for bringing K-Pop to mainstream. In fact, it was at the Billboard Music Awards in 2017 that BTS first made history with their win, forever solidifying the significance of the awards show in the hearts of fans.
