However, now shortly after Balenciaga debuted a brand new shoe, fans of the father of four could not help but see some of the rapper’s work in their latest drop.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), it was revealed that Balenciaga had added a new shoe design to their collection. While the brand has been known for constantly updating its collection to stay relevant in the age of thrifting and DIYing, its latest attempt ended up being a major miss. Although the shoes may have been put on the Christmas wishlist of a lot of people, some fans began drawing comparisons to one of Ye’s creations.

While this was not something new for them, the new design still ended up gaining a lot of attention. The shoes looked like socks and were soon compared to Ye’s Yeezy pods. Most social media users who saw it could not help but feel the same way. They even ended up taking to the comment section to share their thoughts on the hilarious failed drop.

Just like with any post involving Kanye West, many fans swarmed the comments section to share their thoughts on it.

Fans claim Balenciaga copied Kanye West’s creation

After pictures of Balenciaga’s latest shoe made its way online, many fans of Kanye West seemed to attack the brand in the comments. Some of them even went so far as to accuse them of “copying” the rap legend, while others just seemed to think that they were branching out.

While most users believed that Balenciaga was copying Ye, other users pointed out that many brands had tried their hand in the same style.

While sock shoes have been a thing for years now, a lot of the world seems to credit Kanye West with coming up with them. Although that might be the case, Balenciaga and Ye have managed to keep each other on their toes, given their previous issues. However, so far, neither the brand nor the rapper has acknowledged the comparison.
