Ye may grab headlines for his unpredictable nature and never-ending rants, but Steve Lacy recently enlightened fans with a story that does away with that reputation. Taking to his Instagram handle last week, Lacy shared a carousel of snaps with the ‘Vultures’ artist while recounting when the latter steered his sinking ship to the anchor amidst a rough time. Lacy shared having been on a tour and crying to Mr. West’s ‘Good Morning’ track, which eventually made him text Ye.
Lacy started by pulling himself together to give some love to the “great” intro, but soon enough, Ye cut to the chase, asking him about the “static quoting” and if he truly vibes with the track. However, the real highlight was when the Atlanta rapper surprised Lacy by showing up at his show in Dublin, leaving the latter to remember that night with all the teary-eyed emojis. He would not call it “nostalgic,” but definitely a “sweet moment” Lacy recently felt like sharing.
Lacy’s storytelling session about Ye was a nice break from all the usual negative headlines. It also sparked a lot of interest in the rapper’s upcoming documentary—and whether it might reveal even more untold insights about him.
