Kanye West is no stranger to being the newsmaker. However, apparently, the rapper does not want to make a face while doing it so! After months of being in Japan, the rapper was spotted in Italy a few weeks ago. Now, it seems he has stuck a base up there. In a fresh batch of photos, the rapper is seen somewhere in Italy with a ‘hood’ of sorts draped over his head. 

In the two photos, West is seen in his trademark all-black outfit. A black jacket complimented with a pendant and highlighted by a headgear that winds over to cover his face. The headgear covering most of his face, much like the all-black outfit, is the least camera-shy out of all of Ye’s outfits.

This is not the first time the Donda rapper has been spotted with a mask covering his face. In fact, Ye has been advocating for masks way before the pandemic made them mandatory.

It was back in 2012 when Kanye West famously sported a mask covering his entire face during the live show. But in lieu of questioning him, his then-wife, Kim Kardashian, chose to support him by doing the same. In fact, she even incorporated the trademark Ye trend during her iconic 2021 Met Gala appearance.

If the recent outing are anything to go by, it seems that Bianca Censori is doing the same. These masks and Kanye West’s affinity towards them is surprisingly also for precautionary reason. But precaution has very different meanings for a self-titled genius and ordinary people.

Why does Kanye West wear a mask to cover his face?

Contrary to what people may assume from these mask-clad photos of Kanye West, he does not hide his face from media scrutiny. Rather, the reason is somewhat different altogether! A while back, West had once explained his rationale behind wearing a “mask” or hiding his face while in public. In a rather hilarious incident, West, while still being on auto-tune, went on to say that he hid his face because he does not want people “to get the wrong shot” of his face.

West said that he stays out-focused when ‘unmasked’ as then people capture many angles and expressions of his face that might be awkward or might not really resemble himself. Who knew that behind this mask-wearing practice that had everyone from conspiracy theorists to plastic surgeons raising their eyebrows was such a hilarious reason.
