The global push artist is thriving at his job and there is one person who has inspired him throughout. Yes! We are indeed talking about Enoch Armani Tolbert, AKA Armani White. And do you know who is his forever inspiration? Well, none other than the veteran Philadelphian, Will Smith. The ‘Billie Eilish’ hit song maker talked about his brand new deal in an exclusive chat with Audacy.

It is no news that Smith began his career as a rapper, going by the name Fresh Prince. However, he has faced a plethora of criticism for not only not using profanity in his songs, but much more. Well, now it seems like he has his bunch of admirers as well. The Road to Casablanca EP creator, who is from the same city as the Emancipation actor said that he “grew up inspired by” how Smith’s Fresh Prince brought in a lot of fashion even just on the male side.

Talking just about the type of music he creates, White mentioned, “What I’m doing with happy hood music, that was Will Smith being from Philly but changing the narrative, changing the sound, changing the style.” And although he yet can not meet his inspiration himself, he did meet Fresh Prince’s better DJ half, DJ Jazzy Jeff. Amongst many other things, White could not help but express his gratitude for the embrace he received from everyone he connected. He recalled his meeting with the veteran rapper, DJ Jazzy Jeff. They apparently stayed up all night in Abu Dhabi just to talk about their native place, Philadelphia. Apart from this duo, sensations such as Ludacris and Busta Rhymes have also helped him in his kick-start. His 2022 song, ‘Billie Elish,’ also ranked 58 on the Billboard Top 100 chart.

Talking about his inspirations, and the “legend” Will Smith is to him, the next hip-hop sensation also mentioned that while his latest inspiration is Janelle Monáe, his greatest will forever be his father. White’s father was reportedly diagnosed with prostate cancer when he was just nineteen. He not only dedicated his debut album to his father but also expressed that he must be proud of White and happy for everything the rapper has been able to pull off so far.
