With the music world grooving hard on the cinematic terrain, it might look like the record biz is hitting a pause. But hold that thought because the numbers do not lie, and they are here to show who is really running the game. Ariana Grande, the queen of multitasking, has been juggling press releases and premieres for her big-screen arrival while still turning heads with her chart-topping feats. Now, adding some Billboard bling to her crown, she has officially stepped into the club of heavyweights like Ye (formerly Kanye West), Ty Dolla $ign, Metro Boomin, and Future.

Pop music has been the life of the party this decade, but it is throwing the ultimate bash this year. Ariana Grande might have spent the back half of the year sparking Wicked theories, but earlier on, she was planting the seeds of musical genius now fueling the tabloid frenzy. As per Buzzing Pop on X, Grande has joined an elite club with Ye, Ty Dolla $ign, Metro Boomin, and Future as the only artists this year to debut multiple projects in the Billboard 200’s Top 2.

Grande’s Wicked film’s soundtrack album recently debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, right behind Kendrick Lamar’s record-breaking ‘GNX,’ becoming the highest debut ever by a big-screen adaptation of a stage musical. In March, her ‘Eternal Sunshine’ album achieved her sixth No.1 on the Billboard 200 list. Grande previously led the charts with ‘Positions’ (2020), ‘ Thank U, Next’ (2019), ‘Sweetener’ (2018), ‘My Everything’ (2014), and ‘Yours Truly’ (2013).

As Grande’s holiday spirit illuminates the charts instead of well-light houses decked up with decorations, she is also set to deliver the ultimate Wicked fan experience this Christmas.

Ariana Grande’s Wicked aims to bring the biggest Christmas surprise

Wicked already hit the theaters in November 2022, but gracing the big screens and reigning the charts were not all Ariana Grande planned for her fans this year. Universal Pictures announced just a few days ago that they will host special sing-along Wicked screenings this Christmas. According to Variety’s report, this experience will allow fans to sing along to their favorite tracks from the film, including ‘Popular,’ ‘The Wizard and I,’ and ‘Defying Gravity’ in over 1,000 North American theaters.

Before this, Hugh Jackman’s The Greatest Showman hosted a similar fan experience, becoming a hit across the country. However, since this year’s release only covers Act One, fans will have to wait until next year for tracks like ‘No Good Deed,’ and ‘For Good,’ among others. But given Grande’s knack for shattering records, it is anyone’s guess where the starship of Act Two leads her.
