Ariana Grande Branded “fake” by Taylor Swift Fans for Sabrina Carpenter Story, Ignites a Fandom War
The good old catfight trope of successful women being pitted against one another might have just added another episode online. This time, it involves the pop queens of the 21st century- Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Sabrina Carpenter. Each of these artists has made their mark on pop culture in their own unique way. Especially Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, who are known for weaving the feminist movement into their music. Sabrina Carpenter, on the other hand, has very recently gained massive attention after two of her summer earworms went viral.
One might think there is no room for a feud among these top-tier talents, who are all currently at the peak of their careers. Turns out, their fandoms have entangled themselves in yet another clash, arguing over which of the seasoned stars-Swift or Grande- truly stands by the newly minted sensation Sabrina Carpenter. It all began when Grande posted a clip of Carpenter’s interview on her Instagram story. And some Swifties immediately branded Grande as “fake,” suspecting her support as just a play to gain favor now that Carpenter is, well, popular.

Sabrina Carpenter has been considered a ‘Taydaughter’ ever since Swift featured her on the Eras Tour. Many also credit the 'Cruel Summer' singer for the sudden boost in recognition the ‘Espresso’ songstress has received. However, after Grande was accused of being fake for supporting Carpenter, Arianators dug up some archives as proof of Grande backing the Disney alumna, even when she was not as big a deal.
Grande’s fans took it upon themselves to prove that the artist has always supported Carpenter, and that Swifties are just being unreasonable.
Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift fans battle over who supports Sabrina Carpenter more
Sabrina Carpenter may not yet be considered in the league of Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift, but she is definitely the new pop culture fixation. However, there is plenty of evidence to prove that Ariana Grande has had Carpenter's back since 2017. Whether through tweets or by letting Carpenter open for her on the Dangerous Woman Tour when she was still relatively unknown, Grande has shown she believes in uplifting emerging artists.
Swifties, however, argued that Grande only started supporting Carpenter once she became famous. Some also referenced the ‘bloodline’ singer’s drama with Chappell Roan.

Yet, in the midst of this fan conflict, it is clear that Sabrina Carpenter is drawing support from key industry figures, which could hugely aid her in the quest to rise to the top of the pop music world.
