The musical arena is wrapping its heads around the soaring expectations with sky-high excitement for the comeback of Kanye West. With bombshell lineups of collaborations and the promise of featuring many prominent artists, the talk has surpassed the walls of the musical sphere. While fans are snipping socials for regular updates, the headliners have also made their way to the high chords of society beyond the musical universe. The same is also in evidence with Charlamagne’s brew banter with Andrew Schulz.

Conversing on many topics, Andrew Schulz touched upon Ye’s retreat to the record industry. However, unlike his fans, his opinion was rather unimpressive and lackluster.

The man whose return is currently exercising authority over the fans’ emotions at every point with his pushback whispers and canceled raves, also became a topic of nurture between Andrew Schulz and Charlamagne in the Brilliant Idiots podcast. McKelvey said how it would be “interesting” to witness if Ye could “recapture people’s music”. Although he was optimistic, Schulz’s retortion to “I don’t think he got it anymore” was a blow.

The question began with Schulz’s skepticism as he asked, “Is it over for Ye, bro?”. While he did mention that he was no “hater”, he also emphasized how he is not a fan of the “snippets” surfacing the Internet. Focusing on how the Backstreet Boys track ‘Everybody’ did get clearance, he made his point even stronger. But then, the American comedian also said how Ye has given “remarkable reconfigurations” to several tracks in the industry. However, the Backstreet Boys improvisation is just not the one.

While Schulz may have his discontentment or skepticism regarding Ye, his ever-growing fandom does not align with that opinion.

Kanye West’s never-ending musical streak

Even after 18 months of hiatus, West’s comeback is nothing but a strong proof of his immortal legacy. As it is, Kanye West remains one of the top 10 contenders with most Grammy wins. Furthermore, he also won Billboard’s Top Gospel Artist of 2023. Given that his comeback has got fans stuck on their screens for long hours of wait, there is no denying that his return is only the beginning.

Ye also maintains his position as the fourth artist among the top-selling digital artists. Moreover, all of his albums have crossed the billion mark of streams on Spotify. Keeping in mind that his recent raves are flooding with crowds, it is but a little hard to come to terms with Schulz’s point of view, let alone putting an end line to his career.
