Andrew Schulz Slams Kendrick Lamar’s 'GNX' Over Hypocrisy on Women Empowerment

While the chart-topping hit surely catered to many audiences, it did not appeal to comedian-actor Andrew Schulz.

According to a video snippet made public by NFR Podcast on X, Andrew Schulz, the host of the Brilliant Idiots podcast, slammed Kendrick Lamar's 'GNX' on his podcast, breaking down some of the album's lyrics. Schulz, who highlighted Lamar's law on who can talk about Black women, criticized his collaboration with South Park creators, citing their history of disrespecting women.

Schulz argued that the rap industry has consistently shown respect for women through their art. "Nobody has respected women more through art than rappers," he stated. As Schulz went on to decipher more of Lamar's line on the spot, he sparked a heated debate about the representation of women in hip-hop and the alleged hypocrisy of artists as such.

Kendrick Lamar's surprise album, GNX, dropped over the weekend, and the rapper did not hold back. Although not mentioned explicitly, many believed him to have addressed comedian Andrew Schulz for a past racist joke. On the opening track, 'Wacced out murals,' Lamar rapped about how not to let any white comedian talk about any Black women, and that apparently was the law.

Andrew Schulz, who was widely believed to be the target of Lamar's lyrics. The joke in question was made in August and sparked controversy. Schulz thereby responded to the criticism, acknowledging the backlash, with a counterattack on the Award-winning rapper. While others chimed in to defend him, Schulz was more or less pressed on bringing out the “hypocrisy” in Lamar's lyrics.
