Amidst VMA Sweep and Eras Tour, Taylor Swift Opts Out of America’s Grandest Event Super Bowl Halftime Show for This Reason
The 2023 Super Bowl saw a stunning half-time performance by Rihanna. Not only did the ‘Rude Boy’ artist perform live for the first time in five years, but also broke all the previous records for the most viewed half-time performance ever. Clad in red, the ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker would have supposedly passed the baton to the pop-culture icon Taylor Swift. The phenomenal success of her Eras tour proved the ‘Love Story’ singer’s popularity yet again.
Surprisingly, the 33-year-old singer-songwriter is opting out of America’s most celebrated event, Superbowl.

Swift’s Eras Tour is undoubtedly her career-defining moment. Reaching almost a billion in sales with her 146 continental concerts, the singer seems in no hurry to accept the Super Bowl invitation for 2024. A recent report by Daily Mail revealed that Swift believed performing at the halftime show would not be “a defining moment for her right now.” The source added that the ‘Bad Blood’ singer currently has a lot on her plate with her Eras Tour and is willing to focus on other projects. This in turn has left the singer with no time to prepare for the Super Bowl, as shared by a close source to her.
The 33-year-old is of the opinion that she is currently at the peak of her career and every next move will count. “Living life” and music are taking up most of her time. The insider continued how Swift always cites Madonna to her team to tell them how she did the Super Bowl at 53 and “timing is everything.” The performances usually last 10 to 15 minutes but are infamous for garnering millions of views. Rihanna herself garnered a record-breaking 121 million views.
The ‘Enchanted’ singer is meanwhile busy preparing for her tour, whilst having this wish for Super Bowl.

The ‘You Belong with Me’ likes staying close to her roots. No matter the success, she has made sure to remain grounded. While the artist who had cities change names in her honor won’t grace the 2024 Vegas Super Bowl, Daily Mail also revealed she had the Games in her mind. Even though it wasn’t a possibility in the coming year, the singer expressed her wish to perform at her home base, Nashville.
Swift recently concluded the North America leg of her tour, gearing up for Mexico and the South counterpart of the continent. She was spending her off-time attending the wedding of her close friends, Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley. Antonoff, who was a music producer, had worked with Swift on 50 songs. The singer enjoyed the evening with Lana Del Rey and Cara Delevingne.
