Taylor Swift has wrapped up her European leg at Wembley Stadium in London. And she feels now is the right time to address the three Eras Tour shows in Vienna that were canceled earlier this month. In an Instagram post, Swift shared that she stayed silent because she did not wish to “provoke those who would want to harm the fans.” Therefore, by keeping quiet, she was “showing restraint.”
Swift mentioned that all she wanted was to finish the Eras Tour safely, as the “devastating” Vienna incident had left her “with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt.” However, the songstress was also “grateful to the authorities” for providing top-notch security, which allowed her to finish her Eras Tour smoothly. Nonetheless, the Vienna cancellations did do some damage.
According to reports, the cancellations put a significant dent in the pockets of the insurers for Taylor Swift’s Vienna concerts.

Taylor Swift was supposed to play back-to-back shows at Austria’s Ernst Happel Stadium from August 8 to 10, in front of 195,000 Swifties. But when the shows had to be canceled for safety reasons, it left insurers covering costs in the tens of millions of dollars. Some say the losses could have been made up if the shows were rescheduled, but that did not happen.
Taylor Swift's Eras Tour still has a bit more to go before it ends. The ‘Back To December’ singer will soon return to North America to finish the tour in November, with six dates at Toronto’s Rogers Centre and three at Vancouver’s BC Place. But for now, as Swift mentioned in her Instagram note, she needs some “much-needed rest” before starting the final leg of her historic music tour.
