At the peak of his career, Kanye West boasted a staggering net worth of more than $6 billion. However, over the years, the number dwindled to drastic lows and currently stands at about $400 million. The sharp fall, indicative of his career shortcomings, may recover and even surpass following the ‘Vultures’ album release and more planned movements in 2024 and beyond. Yet, as of now, the rapper has plans, except that they do not necessarily involve him revisiting his previous ventures.

A fan of minimalism, the rapper boasts the possession of several artistic and architectural laurels under his possession, including some left to rot.

Born in modest Chicago, Kanye West never let himself settle for the least. Back in September 2021, the ‘Flashing Lights’ singer acquired one Malibu beachfront property once listed at $75 million for $57 million. Designed by popular architect, Tadao Ando, the 4,000 square feet mansion had large windows and the oceans reaching right up to its dock at high tides. Now, years later, Ye has listed it for sale at $53 million.

The drop in valuation accounted for West’s half-baked vision that never saw fulfillment. Soon after possession, the singer stripped down the structure to its bare bones. As of now, the building simply has a concrete skeleton with no windows, plumbing, or any amenities whatsoever. Moreover, thanks to the removal of the floor-to-ceiling glasses, the entire mansion remained exposed to nature for years and currently lies deteriorated far away from its prime.

Though West has listed his properties for sale, he has also showcased massive ambitions in the Middle East.

Ye moved ahead with plans for his DROAM city

Towards the end of 2023, Kanye West moved to Saudi Arabia and soaked in the desert vibes. After dropping a ‘Vultures’ live concert in Dubai and spending time with his daughter, North West, the singer took an extreme liking to the Middle East. A few weeks down the line, the ambitious Yeezy owner unraveled his plans to build a city named DROAM in the area.

Pegged to be nearly fifty percent in the area to that of New York and about four times that of Paris, the self-sustaining city would be one of its kind. Meanwhile, true to his words, West recently flagged off Phase 1 of the project as he looked for contractors and engineers through an official website. Regardless of the city’s stature, the rapper remains well on track to make one glorious comeback.
