Amid Continuous Tracking Drama, Taylor Swift Sells Her $44 Million Worth Private Jet
Taylor Swift has achieved literal highs ever since the dawn of her Eras Tour concerts. In 2023, the singer made her way into the billionaire club and along with all the laurels called upon a whole new arena of scrutiny. Amid her swooning romance with Travis Kelce, her use of private jets as a means of regular transport ignited fierce debates between environmentalists and recently crossed the threshold when public tracking data of her travels came to the fore.
Taking note of all the commotion, the ‘1989’ singer resorted to one drastic measure to subdue them.

Jack Sweeney, a 21-year-old student at the University of Central Florida, erupted into the spotlight for making available live tracking data of Taylor Swift’s private jets on his X (formerly Twitter) feed. The resulting mess called for the singer’s legal team to send a cease and desist order to the man. Amid all of this chaos, the Federal Aviation website’s data available to the public disclosed the 34-year-old selling her $44 million worth Dassault Falcon 900.
The transaction dated January 30, 2024, recorded SATA LLC, sharing an address with Taylor Swift Productions, handing over the plane for an undisclosed amount to a car insurance company in Missouri. The last time the jet recorded a slight also occurred on the same date from Illinois to St. Louis. Meanwhile, even after selling the jet in her possession since at least 2011, the ‘Wildest Dreams’ singer has one more in her inventory – a slightly larger Dassault 7X.
The tracking concerns came close on the heels of environmentalists, pointing out the carbon emissions by the singer’s planes.

The crescendo of details shared by Jack Sweeney struck one glaring chord with environmentalists when one of the now-sold plane’s recent trips came as a 13-minute flight between two ends of St Louis. Soon after, additional details, including the aircraft producing over 138 tons of greenhouse emissions, ignited a chain of debate. However, all the discussions lacked one glaring oversight. While the 13-minute flight happened after its sale, other details lacked clarity.
Taylor Swift’s private jets were often leased and thus, all the travel and emissions did not come from her. Moreover, in terms of her travel habits, she ranked well below the world’s top 30 celebrities in flight hours and, hence, emissions. The breaking point in Swift’s decision may have stemmed from privacy concerns owing to the tracking data.
