Even less than a year after releasing her debut album, Chappell Roan is seeing the kind of success that usually takes artists a lifetime to achieve. While most of the credit goes to her chart-topping tunes and sharp songwriting in 'The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,' much of the buzz around this new indie sensation is also due to her bold and candid personality. Roan recently faced a wave of backlash when she pointed a finger at fans for crossing boundaries.

Despite the backlash from her blunt remarks, Chappell Roan found some support from fellow stars like Madison Beer.

Madison Beer recently gave an interview to NME, where she talked about the new parasocial world of pop music and celebrity culture. Relating herself to the ‘Good Luck’ singer, Beer shared that she thinks a lot of people have taken what Chappell Roan said out of context. Beer explained that Roan was only calling out stalkers and harassers “who do things that are inherently wrong.” The ‘Make You Mine’ singer added, “You have to allow people to be human.”

Beer emphasized that Roan is not “ungrateful” to her fans, as the internet has been accusing the 26-year-old. At the same time, Beer also shared her excitement for the “huge moment” Roan has experienced in recent months, who has been giving even mega stars like Taylor Swift a run for her money on the charts. “I’m proud to be a girl who is happy for other girls,” said the 25-year-old. However, Beer is not the only celebrity who spoke out in support of Roan.

It all started when Chappell Roan, last month, took to TikTok to express her disdain for fan harassment and stalking. Although she turned her comments off, her remarks about fame and the need to respect the humanity of artists sparked quite a conversation online. Maya Rudolph told Variety earlier this month that she has faced her own share of people who feel entitled to harass her.

“I was grateful that someone of her status spoke that honestly and openly,” said Rudolph about Roan. Even celebrities like Sabrina Carpenter, Troye Sivan, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Lucy Dacus, and many more have come forth in Roan’s support.
