After the Rolling Loud Letdown, Kanye West Reveals the Problems Faced With His Set
The last year has been a rollercoaster for Kanye West fans and it looks like it will not be stopping anytime soon. While the rapper may have finally dropped ‘Vultures 1’ and added more items to his Yeezy store, it looks like his focus has continued to be on his album listening parties. Most recently, the 46-year-old let festivalgoers down when he promised the world a performance at Rolling Loud but only delivered a listening event.
Shortly after social media went into a frenzy over Ye’s low-energy set, the rapper took to his social media to share his disappointments about the anticipated set.

After weeks of waiting for Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign to headline the Rolling Stone festival, it turned out to be a bust. While fans had blamed Ye’s lack of using a mic and his unenthusiastic performance, the rapper had other factors to blame. In a story on his Instagram, the 46-year-old shared a text conversation between him and Aus Taylor detailing the issues at the venue.
The texts stated that the “Fire Marshall” had made the team take down the “scrim” due to it being “too windy.” The thread also revealed that Ye and his team could only use the lights and smoke for their set. Although that may have added to his listening event, it was not enough to keep his fans from wanting more. The 46-year-old may not have had the best experience at the festival. However, his 10-year-old, North West, had a blast.
Fans in attendance may have been outraged about West’s performance. However, the rapper ended up defending himself for holding another listening event.

After Kanye West’s performance at Rolling Loud ended up getting such a mixed response, the rapper went to BigBoyTV to open up about his experience with ‘Vultures 1’ and his listening parties. During the conversation, he shared some insight into why he chose to stray away from using a microphone on stage. He stated that he believed, “People just came for the experience,” not the performance.
While West might have been giving his fans what he thought they wanted, it did not work out all that well. However, that did not stop the 46-year-old from declaring that his events were “still better than other people shows that have a mic.” With the father of four focusing on his listening events, it might not be long before he announces another one.
