Once Hollywood’s biggest fashion visionary, Kanye West has been moved to the sidelines of the clothing industry lately. Last year, conglomerates like Vogue, Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap severed their relationships with the controversial rapper. However, one among them, Balenciaga, found a new face for their brand in Ye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian. And now it appears that West might be trying to reclaim his throne in the industry of vanity by working with a new brand alongside Bianca Censori. 

His latest social media share showcased his wife donning the couture brand.

Earlier today, Ye shared a plethora of Instagram posts and stories all featuring Censori in an edgy ensemble by a brand named Mowalola. The ‘Donda’ engineer was wearing a tank top with the word ‘WET’ imprinted on the front paired with black hot pants. She coupled the fit with a black stilettos and a slick hairdo giving Lara Croft vibes in the slow-motion walk plastered on Ye’s Instagram account.

Most of his fans who have been waiting for him to drop ‘Vultures’ are convinced that he is hinting at a fashion collaboration through Censori. The brand in question is a next-gen avant-garde label by Nigerian designer, Mowalola Ogunlesi. The brand’s aesthetic combines ready-to-wear pieces with maximalist glamor through a futuristic lens. Well, that certainly aligns with Ye’s recent inclinations in fashion. 

Ye might be motivated to get back in the apparel game. After all, his ex-wife just scooped up the brand that once abandoned him.

Kim Kardashian goes from Balenciaga muse to ambassador

While both West and Kardashian have a long-dated history with the luxury fashion house, when it came to declaring their new face of the company, they went with the SKIMS founder. When the mother of four wore the black full-body attire designed by this brand to the Met Gala in 2021, she single-handled drove up search engine activity for it. So, their decision is understandable.

On the other hand, the ‘Graduation’ rapper’s backhanded statements in the last couple of years were bad PR for brands associated with him, especially Balenciaga, which was itself trying to redeem its image after a controversial photoshoot with children. So maybe West is finally ready to move on from past networks into new ones through new-Gen brands like Mowalola which may become a reality soon.
