After Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish Fans Go after Her Bestie Jack Antonoff for Alleged Attack at the ‘Happier Than Ever’ Singer
There have been speculations of a beef between the two pop goddesses of the modern era, Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish. While both songstresses have always maintained an amicable bond, their fandoms have accused them of trying to throw shade at each other. Adding another chapter to the narrative, now Jack Antonoff, Swift's friend and collaborator, has stepped into the fan-made feud.
Jack Antonoff recently gave an interview to Today, where he spoke about his songwriting process. The producer and songwriter shared how compulsion is the key to writing songs, which stems from “serious things”. He added, “You don’t hear a lot of great songs about, like, one’s lunch order,” which triggered Eilish’s fanbase as she had a song titled ‘LUNCH’ on ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’.

These rumors of beef have been taking shape ever since Eilish’s Billboards interview, where she called out artists who release a string of vinyl variants. And it did not take fans long to see this as a shade to Taylor Swift, who was responsible for 7% of all vinyl albums sold in the US in 2023. Nonetheless, the tables soon turned and fans found Swift guilty, trying to block Eilish off the charts by releasing music around the same time as the ‘lovely’ singer.
Now, Antonoff’s alleged shade has further fueled the fire between Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish’s fanbases.
Internet battle erupts between Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish's fans
Taylor Swift undoubtedly has one of the most dedicated fanbases in the world, who would turn heaven and earth to defend her. After the hate the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer received from Billie Eilish’s fans, Swifties came to the rescue and tried to clarify Jack Anotnoff’s statement. They believe that Antonoff did nothing wrong, and was not trying to throw shade at Billie Eilish in any way.
Meanwhile, fans on Eilish’s side accused Antonoff of subtly dissing the ‘Happier Than Ever’ songstress.

While Jack Antonoff specifically talked about a “lunch order”, it was not what Billie Eilish’s track was about. The 2024 track talks about eating a girl for lunch, metaphorically, that Eilish penned while exploring her identity, as she told Rolling Stone. Considering this, there is a possibility that Antonoff’s statement had nothing to do with Eilish and fans are inflating a fictitious feud between the pop queens.
