After Missing MTV VMAs 2022, Is Harry Styles Going to Be at This Year’s Ceremony?

The MTV VMA 2023 is just days away. While fans are buckling up for a musical evening, there are a lot of discussions floating in the air about who all are attending the event. Last year, Nicki Minaj’s polarizing performance Måneskin’s Black Chaps, and Lizzo’s speech were enough to get people talking about the 2022 VMAs. However, the event was a letdown for Stylers who missed the ‘As It Was’ artist at the event. 

Harry Styles, who led the nomination of the 2022 Video Music Awards, was unable to attend the event. As the upcoming VMAs are just around the corner, fans are unsure if the 29-year-old singer will be making it to the show this year!

While Snoop and Eminem were rocking the VMA stage with their metaverse-inspired performance, Styles was busy with one of his highest-grossing tours. Kicking off in 2021, the One Direction singer’s Love On Tour lasted for two long years, spanning across four continents. On the night of the MTV Awards, the ‘Watermelon Sugar’ creator was busy with his Love On Tour show at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Given that his you ended recently, he could make an appearance at the show in a few days.

Last year, Styles was nominated for eight awards, including Song of the Summer, Video of the Year, and Artist of the Year. While the singer fell short in some of the categories, he did win the Best Pop, Best Cinematography, and Album of the Year. To convey his honor for the awards, he recorded a heartfelt video from NYC’s Madison Square Garden where he was performing a 15-night residency. He thanked his fans and everyone who worked on the album with him in his video message.

While singers like Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, and Doja Cat are leading the pack of nominations, the six Brit Awards-winning singer’s ‘Music For A Sushi Restaurant’ is up for winning the best visual effects of the year. Going head-to-head with him are Fall Out Boy, Melanie Martinez, Minaj, Sam Smith, Kim Petras, and Swift. However, only time will tell if Styles will emerge as the winner of the category, or if he will face another defeat by the Eras tour performer.

In the race of 1 billion, the ‘Anti Hero’ singer has surpassed Styles with her enormous earnings in the Eras tour. While the ‘Fine Line’ creator gave the world the fifth-highest grossing tour, Swift could make history of crossing a billion by the time her tour ends. As per New York CNN Business, the earnings from the tour could even go as high as $2.2 billion USD. And now, fans are excited about another showdown between the two pop stars at the VMA. However, it is important to note that there hasn’t been any confirmation about whether the ‘Magic’ singer will attend the upcoming event.
