After Developing ‘Vultures’ in the Middle East, Kanye West Has a Grander Plan For It
For the majority of this year, Kanye West took center stage in the news not for his musical endeavors but rather for his globetrotting escapades. The rap maestro found himself mostly in the embrace of the Middle East in the second half of 2023. Ever since whispers of his upcoming album, ‘Vultures’ began to circulate, the ‘Graduation’ rapper has been a nomadic force trotting across regions nestled in the desert oasis. And his travel saga just got an interesting twist thrown in the mix.
As his fans still eagerly await the release of the much-delayed ‘Vultures’, the 46-year-old is working on a completely different project.

With a particular penchant for the likes of Dubai and Al-‘Ula, Ye has become a familiar face in various Saudi Arabia locales lately. However, what nobody expected from him was his intention to build his very own city in the desert! According to several fan-run pages on X (previously Twitter), the Yeezy founder now plans on developing an area in the Middle East into a city.
As shocking as this update may be, reports suggest that he has already begun recruiting people to work on his blueprint too! Ye’s plan is to construct a 100,000-acre city. The post alluded to Phase 1 of this grand plan having already begun. They are seemingly hiring engineers, project managers, builders, and contractors for it. Currently, the title of the project refers to it as DROAM.
One thing that makes this new all the more perplexing is Ye’s history with architecture projects left unfinished.
Ye’s unforgiving past in the realm of construction
In recent years, the ‘Donda’ rapper’s many real-estate holdings have begun to turn into colossal failures one after another. Especially considering the heft amounts he once invested in them, the return on these assets has barely profited him. Some like the Cornerstone Church were recently reported to have been left in ruins. Similarly, his beachfront property in Malibu, which he attempted to turn into a bomb shelter remains abandoned too.

The mansion is now selling for $4 million less than what he paid for it. He also started his own construction company that shut down in the middle of building this mansion. It seems like the father of four is attempting to turn a new page in his chapter on construction-related projects with DROAM. Whether this one turns out differently than the previous ones remains to be seen.
