In August 2019, Taylor Swift debuted ‘Cruel Summer’, the second song from her album ‘Lover’. Ever since, the same has begun on a charting journey that saw it eclipse past some of the singer’s own songs to now attaining a fresh high. As reported by Forbes, the nearly five-year-old song has found its place on the Adult Pop Airplay chart again this week, taking its count of presence on the charts for a whopping 41 weeks.
‘Cruel Summer’ stood at the seventh position on the chart while tying itself with Swift’s ‘Delicate’, which has also resided on the charts for the same duration. Additionally, its record comes close on the heels of bagging the first spot on the Billboard Radio Songs chart for the tenth consecutive time. The dominant show highlights the sheer grip and musical influence that the pop star now possesses, with several hits coming in to match the space.
In the meantime, another interesting metric also begged its way to prominence, showcasing a trend with Taylor Swift songs.

Taylor Swift has released ten studio albums so far and ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, scheduled for an April 19 release, will be her 11th. Even as hype for its reception has begun charting to the zenith, the movement of all other of her albums showcased a pattern that not a single one of them is showing any signs of slowing down, as they each charted higher than their position on the Top Album Sales chart just a week before.
With a whopping eight albums from Taylor Swift contending out of the fifty albums listed by Billboard, four also found their place inside the top-tens. All of it simply doubles down on the probability that ‘Tortured Poets Department’ and its four editions may well debut as the best ever from the pop star or at the very least set herself in line with some of the biggest musical icons in history.
