Kanye West is giving his fandom sleepless nights as news of his next album dropping soon has gained traction. The rapper, who was in Italy for the past few weeks, recently made a brief departure to Ireland to attend a concert. Nevertheless, talks of his own music being nearly complete and sightings of his frequent collaborators in Italy have all pointed to an album from the rapper coming soon.

West’s last album, ‘Donda’, was released more than two years ago. Since then, the rapper has yet to make a musical comeback. Although, it seems that the time is nearer than ever.

Kanye West lands back in Italy after Ireland sortie

Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori, have been spotted in Venice numerous times now. The couple was in Venice earlier this week where the duo were spotted on boat rides. However, soon after, Ye seemed to have made it to Stradbally, Ireland, for the Electric Picnic Festival. Along the lines of the event, West was also photographed hugging rapper Steve Lacy. Additionally, West’s return to Italy is a much-heaved sigh of relief from his fans who are impatiently waiting for news of new music.

Rumors about West’s new music have been in the air ever since West was in Japan, earlier this year. However, recently, a noted Instagram fan of Ye shared photographs and stories of West outside a hotel in Italy. The same person had also confirmed that Ye and his team have rented a conference room in the hotel only to convert it into a makeshift studio. There was also confirmation that the music being rehearsed by Ye in that room was new and sounded “finished”.

As such, Kanye West is looking to reclaim his status as a hip-hop icon, which has lately been under threat.

Drake, and Travis Scott among many others who threaten Ye’s hip-hop and rap dominance

It has been quite a long time since Kanye West released any fresh songs to refresh fans’ playlists. The rapper’s last album ‘Donda’ broke and earned several records when it was released back in 2021. However, the musical extravaganza was quickly outpaced by Ye’s long-time rival, Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’. Although ‘Donda’ had and has its charms, in the race to the charts, Drake is currently leading.

Additionally, one of West’s own apprentices, Travis Scott’s ‘Utopia’ could be well on its way to outperforming and shattering ‘Donda’s’ records. Even though Scott publicly hailed West as the true leader when the duo shared the stage in a ‘Utopia’ concert in Rome, there is no denying that West is lagging behind. Therefore, West’s latest album shall seek to earn him back the throne which once was his.
