Adidas’ Yeezy Sales to Fund George Floyd Organisation and Anti-defamation League in Brand’s “Fight Against Hatred”
Kanye West and Adidas have once again come to terms, although this time temporarily. The leftover Yeezy inventory is to hit the stores in the UK and the US soon starting month of June. The catalog and the packaging details have already made the fans impatient. However, as glorious as it feels, the German manufacturer is just tied to the Donda rapper because of the professional requirements. The reason for which the brand pulled off its partnership with the rapper remains intact still.
In a recent statement, the sportswear giant made it clear that it was just lost business sales that were hurting them. And not the fallout with Ye as a whole. This became clear as Adidas released its ultimate goal with sales following the release in June. As reported by Adidas news, the profit of the $1.2 billion obtained from the forthcoming sale will go to two of leading charities, the Anti-Defamation League and a nonprofit organization founded by George Floyd’s brother.

As reported by Adidas on Friday, the sale will benefit the two charities that have been hurt by what Ye had said in the past. The company’s CEO, Bjorn Gulden, has affirmed in the statement that after much careful consideration they have decided upon the said commitment. “Selling and donating was the preferred option among all organizations and stakeholders we spoke to.” He also added that “there is no place in sport or society for hate of any kind and we remain committed to fighting against it.”

The German giant that once looked up to Ye as the “creative pioneer” with visionary imagination called it quits with the rapper last year, in the month of October. The Donda Rapper, who is often known to breach headlines for his absurd and stirring remarks, broke all bars as he went offensive against the Jewish community on his social media. Ever since his controversies with his former partner have nowhere come near a truce.

The company opened up a few weeks ago, and the loss of sales has been hurting the company. They have thus called for a final partnership with the rapper. Nonetheless, the brand stays firm in its virtues of not supporting Ye on any level.
