Adidas Remains Steady in Tackling Ye-Related Issues, Even Two Years After the Split
Ye, aka Kanye West’s partnership with Adidas, was a complete disaster, to say the least. After their infamous fallout, both parties have been caught in a bitter clash, with no end to the jabs and swipes from either side. Ye, in particular, has repeatedly gone on to air his grievances with the company. Meanwhile, Adidas, not bothered by the rapper’s rants, has kept on making money from leftover Yeezy inventory. That is not to say that Adidas has not felt some bumps in the road after their clash with the music mogul.
The German sportswear giant was recently met with a class action lawsuit over its former partnership with Ye. But, just like it has dealt with trouble from Ye before, the company seems to have navigated this storm smoothly as well.

The HRSA-ILA Funds recently took Adidas to court. They claimed that the sportswear company failed to reveal their internal reservations about working with Ye, and the rapper's inappropriate conduct between 2013 and 2018. However, the court dismissed these claims due to a lack of solid evidence, as has been reported by Legal Dive. There was no indication that Adidas made any misleading statements or withheld information from investors about Ye’s conduct and any potential financial risks.
HRSA-ILA Funds alleged that from 2013 onwards, the company must have understood the red flags in their partnership with Ye and, as a result, was in the wrong for keeping the risks hidden from its investors. The judge, however, pointed out that it was not “an affirmative duty” for Adidas to provide detailed information about Ye’s behavior or actions in their statements, as long as the company was not outright lying. While Adidas has won its lawsuit smoothly, one cannot say the same about Ye.
This month, Ye has been hit with a bunch of lawsuits, adding more woes to the rapper’s already rough patch.

Ye faced a lawsuit from BackGrid USA Inc. and Backgrid London Ltd. for sharing paparazzi shots of himself and Bianca Censori earlier this month. The photos, taken at the ‘Vultures 2’ party in Los Angeles, were posted without proper payment. This one mistake cost the company a bundle, and now they are seeking $150,000 per photo, plus legal costs and other compensation from the 'Graduation' creator.
This came right after Ye’s Sunday Service choir lost its charity status for not filing its returns for three years straight. Ye also faced a lawsuit for using parts of the song 'MSD PT2' by Khalil Abdul-Rahman Hazzard, Sam Barsh, Dan Seeff, and Josh Mease in his tracks ‘Hurricane’ and ‘Moon’ without permission. While Adidas is still going strong after the fallout, Ye seems to be having a hard time in the industry these days.
