Adidas Has Major Plans in Mind for Kanye West’s Yeezys, Possibly Resulting in a $320 Million Loss
Kanye West lost his billionaire status when Adidas called off their partnership with him. But this decision also affected the company, and they faced one of the most dramatic losses in three decades. The sportswear brand wrestled with the disposal of the remaining stock of the Yeezy line stacked in warehouses. Luckily, they carried out a sale of $800 million worth of shoes in two rows earlier this year through Adidas smartphone apps and its website.
Now the company has a new plan for the unsold stock, which is worth $32o million and the odds might just be in their favor.

Adidas might write off the remaining $320 million worth of Yeezy shoes left unsold after it cut ties with Kanye West. The company has been weighing this and will decide in the coming weeks whether to do a third release. Parts of the profits they have earned from the previous sale went to groups fighting antisemitism. “Right now, that is financially the worst case, and it is a possibility. Currently, there is no decision,” remarked Gulden in a conference call with reporters as reported by The Washington Post.
The hateful remarks of the ‘Praise God’ singer have brought much backlash to the clothing and footwear brand. So this was an initiative they took to help people struggling with it. The announcement has come amidst West’s new business talks in Dubai and the new album release delays. The company also hopes to sell more shoes in the coming year and use their profits for good causes.
While Adidas has been trying to rise above this sea of losses, one of the Grammy winner’s first fashion clothing line, Pastelle, has found its way back to the spotlight.

Two days back, Fashion Network reported Ye’s first-ever endeavor in the fashion world named Pastelle has returned to fans. This brand will be available at the next ComplexCon on November 18 and 19. The team that will present it includes Ian Connor, former style consultant to Kanye West, designer Christian Azzinaro, and influencer Bloody Osiris.
According to the report, this display will share behind-the-scenes glimpses of the creative realm the pop icon created with his hands. “Tracing the sparks of inspiration that ignited this exceptional venture and exploring the genesis of its evolution,” said the team. The brand largely focuses on streetwear, and they will revisit the old designs that led to the fashion revolution. Meanwhile, Adidas would try to settle the stock that has been costing them millions.
