Adidas has made its decision. With or without Kanye West, the brand has decided to move on. Billions of dollars’ worth of shoe collection have been lying in storage for months since the two broke up. It cost both of them millions of dollars, but the question of what to do with the goods had to be answered by Adidas.
There were multiple options that Adidas considered, with random suggestions from the internet. Selling them, donating them, or even burning them, nothing was left out. It was October of last year when Adidas decided to stop the sale of their Yeezy shoes. Ever since then, fans have been waiting for an update on the collection, wondering what happens to the brand without Ye. But according to AlArabiya, the company has decided to make the shoes available for sale on 05/31/2023. In fact, profits made from the sales will go to campaigns organized to fight racism and hate. Topics that are close to Adidas, considering how it became a reason for their split with Ye.
While the products were pulled out, their demand surprisingly surged to the point of doubling their price. In a statement, CEO Bjorn Gulden said that this decision would respect the designers and producers while solving a major issue with the inventory. It will also resolve the issue for the entire community in the future. Their goal still remains to move on from this and promote an environment free of racism and hate speech.

As per the company, two of the organizations selected for receiving proceeds are the ADI (anti-defamation league) and the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change. Although there is no saying just how much percent of sales from the $1.3 billion worth of shoes will go to charity. A photo of the collection shows the different Yeezy designs with different sliders, sneakers, and shoes. Prices of the collection range from $200 and above. After the initial sale, the remaining stock will be released slowly.
