MTV VMA 2023 has rolled out its red carpet amidst uproar about award shows not being the same anymore. But unlike other award shows, one of the biggest nights of music has managed to successfully evoke the same breath-stopping excitement in the audiences. But for all the right it has done, VMA has once again invited TikTok sensations, Dixie D’Amelio and Charlie D’Amelio, despite the awkward encounter with Nicki Minaj last year.

Given that the sisters are online sensations and are yet to drop a chart-topping single that earns them a spot in the VMA nominations, the D’Amelio’s are presenting this year as well.

As TikTokers earn a pedestal at all elite events ranging from the Met Gala to the MTV VMAs, there is no dearth of maladroitness when they come face to face with award-winning and chart-topping celebrities. Be it the interaction between James Charles, Ryan Reynolds, and Noach Schnapp or last year’s painful misspelling of Dixie D’Amelio’s name by Nicki Minaj, awkward interactions are always in the air when TikTokers are on board. But despite the kerfuffle last year, Dixie D’Amelio has persevered. D’Amelio made a comeback at the MTV VMA 2023 with her sister.
