“A white and black thing”-Beyoncé's Father Matthew Knowles Calls Foul on Racism For His Daughter’s CMA Awards Snub
While Kanye West, now known as Ye, dabbles into unhinged territory, he occasionally makes sense when others fail to. A notable instance was at the 2009 MTV VMA, where he declared Beyoncé one of the greatest pop singers of all time. Although his outburst came at Taylor Swift's expense, it is only understandable since anyone who loves Beyoncé would be outraged when Queen Bey is snubbed for what she deserves.
In the latest incident, it happens to be her dad who did not back off to defend his daughter in times of controversies.

In an exclusive interview with TMZ, Matthew Knowles, Beyoncé's father, expressed his lack of surprise over her zero CMA nominations for this year’s one of her big hits, ‘Cowboy Carter’. Considering race discrimination to be the main point of contention, he stated, "There's more white people in America," he said. Knowles is under the impression that sometimes, the vote is not based on ability and achievements. "It's still sometimes a white and black thing," he claimed in dismay.
Citing Beyoncé's experience performing with the Dixie Chicks at the 2016 CMA Awards, which did not go over well, Matthew Knowles further pointed out the lack of accountability from the CMAs. The American executive's experience with the CMAs has led him to question the voting process, suggesting that it is not solely based on merit. The singer's zero nomination for one of the best albums so far has further questioned inclusivity in the country music scene.
However, he did not stop there. Besides speaking for his daughter, the 72-year-old talked of the deep-rooted societal problems in America.

While Matthew Knowles believed the CMA decision-makers were taking a discriminatory stance against his daughter, he attributed this to the current cultural climate in America as a whole. According to him, that is where inclusivity and acceptance are lacking. Knowles suggested that the CMAs' snub of Beyoncé is a reflection of this broader societal issue.
"In America, there's no accountability for people not being accepting of other cultures," said the father of the Texas talent. Criticizing American culture, he believed this is where the problem originates from. Individuals are not held responsible for their intolerance towards diverse cultures, he implied which ultimately contributed to the CMAs' failure. Meanwhile, although Ye did not speak out this time, his fans did as they brought the unforgettable video back on the trend on Beyoncé's birthday.
