A Kendrick Lamar X Ye Album? Internet Loses It Following Consequence’s Wild Claim About Rappers?

Published 09/25/2024, 9:05 PM EDT

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, made his stance pretty clear in the Drake vs Kendrick Lamar rap battle that engulfed the rap arena as a whole through most of this year. While Ye was not shy in letting people know that his loyalties lay with Lamar, he has been shy about the supposed masterpieces he made alongside Kendrick Lamar almost a decade ago.

With a knack for delivering magnum opuses, just not on time, and sometimes never at all, Ye's reputation precedes him. As witnessed this year, the Atlanta rapper has a tendency to forego the deadline in order to perfect his tracks. This, when combined with Consequence's latest statements on Bootleg Kev podcast about a Ye and Kendrick Lamar album, which back in 2016 just needed to be "structured", makes a lot more sense while also making none at all for fans.

Whispers of a magnum opus crafted with Kendrick Lamar have tantalized fans for nearly a decade now, however, back then a few tracks had been leaked, and a claim was made by Ye himself that there were forty songs in the rooster. Despite there having been a collaboration between the two, neither the forty tracks nor an album made it out of Ye's rigmarole of perfection. As with most of Ye’s creative endeavors, the brouhaha about his alliances have spread like wildfire long before the music they supposedly birthed is ever found.

Already having requested a collaboration between Ye and Kendrick Lamar earlier this year as the latter seemed to be his most lethal creative churn out, the consequence of Consequence's statement regarding a Ye and K.Dot. album has set the Internet up in flames.

Fans breakdown at the possibility of a Ye and Kendrick Lamar album

As Ye has returned to the music scene after extended breaks, which included some shoeless walking and pillows as clothes, his fans could not have been happier. However, as 'Vultures 1' was followed by 'Vultures 2' with a waiting period of three months in between, talks of Ye being washed out surfaced. Even fans would admit that although amazing the music was not the same anymore. Now, imagine the delight of this fanbase when news of a Ye album that too alongside Kendrick Lamar dating all the way back to 2016, lying around somewhere, surfaced.

Fans stated how the world was simply not ready for that album drop only to contradict themselves by begging for the album to be released.
