Jacques Bermon Webster II aka Travis Scott stands as a strong figure in the music industry with great success and influence. The rapper has collaborated with hip-hop legends like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and The Weeknd. However, before attaining superstardom, Travis Scott was an aspiring rapper hailing from Houston, Texas. He held specifically Kanye West in regard, as one of his idols, and looked up to him for inspiration. Once he had opened up about what he truly felt about the ‘Donda’ rapper.

Travis Scott opened up about his respect for Kanye West and how he had influenced Scott’s music over the years. A huge fan of Kanye West, since he was a kid, he was inspired by his albums, such as ‘The College Dropout’ and ‘Graduation’. Scott met the Flashing Lights singer through a mutual friend when he signed onto his icon’s label, GOOD Music, in 2012.

The ‘Sicko Mode’ artist revealed that he had the highest regard for West. He even went on to say how he considered him to be a “leader” and a “creative genius.” In his opinion, West can never retire from music because he is a visionary who shapes music for an entire generation. Moreover, as a matter of fact, Kanye West has had a tremendous impact on the music industry. The early works of the rapper influenced a generation of singers like Scott later on.

Travis Scott also revealed how he worked with Kanye West on several albums, such as ‘Yeezus’, ‘The Life of Pablo’, and ‘Astroworld’. Scott respects West as a person and as an artist, and that they “talk all the time”. It is clear that he held great respect for and valued the Chicago rapper for his influence on the former’s music and style.

The album went on to receive positive reviews from fans and critics alike. On a high note, the rapper was even planning a live stream of his new album from the Egyptian Pyramids! Although, it might not be possible due to legal reasons.

Kanye West, on the other hand, has been relatively quiet on the music front. The musician is currently on a trip to Japan with his wife, Bianca Censori. Although there are rumors that he is working on a new album while in Japan. Meanwhile, West enjoys life away from musical grandeur and visits Tokyo’s restaurants or thrift shops with his wife most of the time. People widely anticipate a musical release from him since his last album, ‘Donda’ was released about two years ago.
