It was announced by Connie Orlando on Friday that BET is about to welcome Will Smith back to grace the BET Awards stage. Earlier, the list of performers slated to grace the event included Tyla and Ice Spice, Ms. Lauryn Hill and her son, YG Marley, and Tanner Adell. However, recently, some more names have been added to the list. Chlöe, Childish Gambino (a.k.a. Donald Glover), Keke Palmer, Summer Walker, Marsha Ambrosius, and Coco Jones will also be performing live at the event alongside Will Smith.
This announcement came right after the ‘Gettin' Jiggy wit It’ artist released his first track in seven years. He dropped a new single titled ‘You Can Make It’ in collaboration with Fridayy. The track also featured the soulful melodies of the Sunday Service Choir by Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and is speculated to reference the 2022 Oscar incident that caused endless turmoil in Smith’s career. It seems, however, that Smith has bounced back from the negativity, not only in his musical career but also in acting.
Will Smith just knocked it out of the park with Bad Boys: Ride or Die. But what made this summer blockbuster such a hit? The Oscar-winning actor himself addressed this in an interview, even before the movie’s release.

Ahead of the grand opening of Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Will Smith dropped by for an interview with The National, where he was asked about his expectations with the movie. The actor shared how he and Martin Lawrence drew inspiration from their real-life experiences. “I love that the spiritual awakening is at the center of the film,” said the 55-year-old.
He also expressed gratitude for being at the center of such a blockbuster and for being able to do this for decades. However, what made the movie a huge success is that it retained the "pure comedy" the franchise is known for. With such positive responses from fans to Will Smith’s comeback in the industry, it is safe to say that he has been forgiven.
