Teaming with his enigmatic muse, the rapper surprised Los Angeles with a preview of their long-awaited fashion film. Originally slated for a November release, the project had already been stirring the pot, but additional details were recently dropped and Vanessa Beecroft entered the scene.

Ye and Censori have already kept censor boards sweating, but who exactly is this latest name in their ever-growing avant-garde alliance?

Ye and Bianca Censori recently broke the Internet with the news of an LA preview of their forthcoming fashion film, designed by Vanessa Beecroft. For those wondering who she is, Beecroft is an Italian-born American contemporary performance artist with expertise in photography, video art, sculpture, and painting. Based in Los Angeles as of 2009, she primarily works in the United States. Although her earlier works focused on gender, the latter zeroes in on race.

As for her connections with the ‘Vultures’ artist, it goes way beyond their recent collaboration, dating back to 2008. They joined forces for the Ace Gallery listening party for ‘808s & Hearbreak,’ and were also credited as the creative lead for the ‘Runaway’ music video. Additionally, she designed the sets and choreography of the Yeezus Tour from October 2013 to September 2014 and also had a role in the music video of ‘Only One.’ But the most intriguing yet was their teaming up for his wedding with Kim Kardashian in 2014.

Vanessa Beecroft and Ye have joined forces on more than the mentioned occasions and here is a lowdown on all that is known.

Vanessa Beecroft is not a newcomer in Ye’s artistic alliance, as it turns out, they have been working together for over a decade. Following her efforts in making his wedding to Kim Kardashian nothing less than a fairytale, Beecroft reportedly directed the rapper’s ‘808s & Heartbreak’ show at the Hollywood Bowl the next year. But that was not all. He launched Yeezy Season 1 in collaboration with Adidas in 2015, whose performance presentation was Beecroft’s directorial.

Beecroft was part of Yeezy Season 2-4 through September 2016 before she allegedly changed her role to a part-time contractor instead of a full-time Yeezy employee. But then again, she teamed up with the 24-time Grammy-winning rapper in 2019 for two opera-based performances, Nebuchadnezzar and Mary. It looks like she steered clear of the Yeezy headquarters for half a decade or more, but now she is back on the team, gearing up for an LA preview of the much-awaited fashion film, BIANCA, starring Bianca Censori.
