Kanye West is finally piecing together the puzzle of his ‘Donda 2’, initially released as an unfinished album. While fans were eagerly anticipating the release of his collaborative project with Ty Dolla $ign, the rapper surprised them with a new track from his earlier album. With the latest release ‘Oxygen’, featuring Sean Leon, Kanye West’s musical comeback has taken an unexpectedly positive turn. The song not only reignited the buzz around Ye’s music but also revoked the memories of a dear departed “Friend”.

Chandler Bing, played by late actor Matthew Perry, became a part of a meme about Sean Leon’s 2023 album ‘In Loving Memory’, following the release of ‘Oxygen’.

Kanye West’s newly released song ‘Oxygen’ led a fan to create a fan art featuring Chandler Bing from Friends. It portrays the moment when Chandler experiences a breakup and seeks solace in Lionel Richie’s ‘Endless Love’ as the emotional backdrop. He also clutches a vinyl copy of the 1982 album ‘Lionel Richie’ as he croons along with the song. The fan art, however, replaces the iconic vinyl with one featuring the poster of Sean Leon’s ‘In Loving Memory’. This is the same poster on the cover of ‘Oxygen’ as well.

The song is currently available on all the major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal. It was scheduled to drop at midnight in all countries on Friday. This announcement of a release on the first day of December was already covered in various reports. But little did anyone know that this musical masterpiece would unearth Chandler Bing’s memories like a bittersweet note in a song. Friends fans would know that Chandler Bing was a bit of a music aficionado himself.

One song that was a guilty pleasure of the funniest friend was David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’. The first time fans got to know about Bing’s love for the song was at the end of season 5. A video of him singing the song accidentally played on a VHS in front of the gang and Joey Tribbiani’s Italian grandmother. The show then used this song as a recurring joke by Tribbiani, suggesting that the roommates must have spent an awful lot of time in their apartment vibing to Bowie.

Apart from Bowie, Bing grooved to Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’ after inhaling helium from a balloon. He also liked to sing ‘Tomorrow’ from Annie in a high-pitched voice. Last but not least, the song with which Chandler proposed to Monica and created one of the most heartwarming moments on the show- Eric Clapton’s ‘Wonderful Tonight’. Considering Bing’s fondness for music, it is easy to see why the ‘In Loving Memory’ fan art resonates so well with his character.
