After setting off one of the longest-running tours in musical history, Taylor Swift took her Eras Tour to the next level by turning it into a concert film. On the 13th of this month, the theatrical release of the movie made headlines once again. From the premiere to the cinematography of the flick, it was all deemed a huge success. However, the ‘Bad Blood’ singer does not plan on sharing this financial success with OTT platforms any time soon.

Recently, it was disclosed by The Hollywood Reporter that Swift has decided to stand by the SAG-AFTRA union’s protest against streaming giants amidst the ongoing strikes. An X (formerly known as Twitter) page also shared this update regarding her “negotiations” with “several streamers” having been paused until then. So, until these OTT moguls reach an agreement with SAG-AFTRA or are somehow able to convince the 33-year-old, The Eras Tour movie will not arrive on their platforms.  

Even before its release, The Eras Tour movie reaped an impressive $26 million in revenue on the first day of its pre-sales. By securing an exclusive agreement with Taylor Swift for the theatrical release of the flick, AMC essentially struck gold. Meanwhile, Swift’s stand against OTTs has forced them to miss out on the same lucrative deal and impressed her fans. After all, her belief in SAG-AFTRA’s demands has caused her to lose out on additional profits, too. 

On X, her fans took to the comments section of the post to shower her with praise for this.
