However, following the months-long storm of backlash that was unleashed on both stars, albeit not uniformly, it seemed that the It Ends With Us debacle was behind us. Until now. The drama is about to get even more frenzied between the co-stars- and from what it seems, it will not just be about them anymore. Some big industry players could also be pulled into the controversy- the most likely of them being one of Lively’s closest friends, Taylor Swift. 

A recent report suggested that the pop star could be a player in the upcoming battle between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. 

Blake Lively left everyone dumbfounded with her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni. And now Baldoni’s crisis management team is brainstorming ways to get out of the mess. Recently, a mail from one of his crisis management experts was reported by the US Weekly, which had a mention of Taylor Swift, or “TS”. The email stated, “BL does have some of the same TS fanbase so we will be taking it extremely seriously”. 

This assumption is not entirely baseless. In fact, when the It Ends With Us drama was at its peak during the promotional tour, many Swifties were seen rallying behind Lively against the backlash. However, Swift herself never publicly voiced her support for the Gossip Girl alum. Nonetheless, the songstress did not abandon her friend in those hard times either.

A source close to Blake Lively informed how Taylor Swift proved to be a loyal confidante to the mother of four behind-the-scenes. 

In September this year, a source told Life & Style that Taylor Swift was there for Blake Lively throughout the hate train, despite her busy Eras Tour schedule in London. Having dealt with such vitriol herself, multiple times, the Grammy-winning artist offered a shoulder to her friend, reminding her that criticism is part and parcel of success. “She’s been solid as a rock for Blake,” the insider added. 

Swift constantly tried to check up on Lively and cheer her up amid the public antipathy. The ‘Lover’ artist made sure that the hate did not “get her (Lively) down”. With such backing from the pop superstar, it is not unreasonable for Justin Baldoni’s team to measure the risks associated with rubbing Swifties the wrong way amid the lawsuit battle.
