Taylor Swift has always worn her love for Friends on her sleeve. This became all the more evident when she shared the stage with Lisa Kudrow during the 1989 tour for a duet on the sitcom’s iconic song ‘Smelly Cat’. One of the recurring themes in the sitcom was the exploration of relationship dynamics between the main characters, be it Chandler and Monica or Joey and Rachel. The ebb and flow of the characters’ love lives can easily be summed up in a single Taylor Swift song. 

Swift’s personal favorite, however, has always been the epitome of a drama-free and wholesome relationship, Mondler. And some resurfaced pictures have sparked speculation that she might just be incorporating shades of their love story into her courtship with Travis Kelce.

In a 2015 interview with Elle for a behind-the-scenes video of her June cover shoot, Taylor Swift shared that her “comfort” episode from Friends was The One Where Everybody Finds Out. In the recently rediscovered photo capturing a moment between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift during the Argentina leg of the Eras Tour, the couple appeared to be mirroring a classic Mondler still from the very same Friends episode.

Within the frame, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce shared an intimate embrace and kiss, just like Monica and Chandler did after they confessed their love to each other on Friends. The best part? While the air was already filled with rumors regarding Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, it was on the night of the kiss that “everybody found out” about them too. 

Fans who were unable to look past the striking similarity between the two couples took to X, formerly Twitter, in a spree of tweets.

Travis Kelce made a surprise appearance at Taylor Swift’s sold-out Eras Tour show in Buenos Aires’ Estadio River Plate. Along with exceptional performance, Swift had a couple of surprises in store for Kelce and the enthusiastic crowd. In numerous circulating videos post the concert, Swift, in her shimmery blue outfit, waved goodbye to the crowd, before rushing backstage to give Travis Kelce a kiss and a big hug. Little did anyone know that soon, this moment would pale in comparison to the iconic couple Mondler!

Witnessing the striking similarities even tugged at the heartstrings of many fans, leading them to imagine that the songstress and the NFL star might be heading for a similarly heartwarming fate as Monica and Chandler.

Fans widely expressed their love for The One Where Everybody Finds Out as their favorite Friends episode. Now it is hard to say whether it was for Mondler’s wholesomeness or the added bonus of it being Swift’s top choice.

In many ways, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship unfolded much like Monica and Chandler’s. For starters, no one in their wildest dreams imagined this pop icon coupling with a footballer. Now, with engagement rumors swirling, they might be on the verge of their “I Do” moment as well, hoping it will not be as chaotic as Mondler’s.
