“Stick to acting”- Will Smith Has Fans Divided With His Rap Comeback at the BET Awards
Unlike other celebrities who face the most turbulence in their careers at the beginning, it seems that Will Smith has only had to face his share of it in recent years, as things have been nothing short of chaotic for him. However, consistent with his image of never giving up and always climbing the mountain top, Will Smith successfully managed to make a bounce back with Bad Boys 4. This, although a huge feat on its own given the Oscar debacle, did not seem satisfactory for him as he a comeback in the rap arena.
The million-dollar success of his recent movie seems to have given Will Smith the confidence to reignite his lost but not forgotten rap career. Smith performed a new song 'You Can Make It' with Kirk Franklin and Fridayy at the BET Awards. As the news reached the ebbs of pop culture enthusiasts, the reactions battled with the performance itself for the top spot.

While this was the first time in decades since Will Smith decided to produce something new in terms of music, he has previously cashed on his legendary rap career multiple times. At this year's Coachella, the Oscar-winning actor, redefined iconic as he put on his Men In Black outfit and took everyone back to the good old days.
The Men In Black performance generated only nostalgia and praising reactions. However, the case seems to be different for Will Smith's BET performance.

Just at the beginning of this year, as Ryan Gosling pulled all the stops and put on a Ken-tastic performance at the Oscars, Will Smith was left yearning to watch the performance live. While his plea did not make the authorities lift the ban for Smith, it seems the actor decided to put on one such performance of his own. What he must have not predicted was that some on the Internet, more specifically on X, might think it is quite courageous of him.
The rapper stuck to his old theme of goodie-cookie rapping and performed an empowering song, the official release of which is still under wraps. However, the audience on X had some snide remarks to make, as one user commented that Smith should just "stick to acting," while another took a jab at his career and said they understood why he had to make the transition.

Not all reactions came at the cost of Will Smith's dignity, however, as some fans genuinely dwelled in joy at the return of Will Smith the rapper. They celebrated how both the biggies from that era, Eminem and Will Smith, had returned to save the industry. In any case, based on the reaction, the Bad Boys actor will have a tough time deciding if he should proceed with his rap career comeback.
