George Clooney has recently cheered on Taylor Swift for her knack for engaging in political discourse and influencing US citizens.

At the premiere of his new film Wolfs, George Clooney gave Taylor Swift a huge shout-out. Speaking with AP Entertainment, the actor called Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris “beautiful.” He praised the younger generation for getting involved in US politics and joining the “national discourse". Clooney further added about Swift, “And, you know, she is a real phenomenon right now.”

It was no secret that Taylor Swift could influence politics to some extent- even if it meant just boosting voter participation. But this time she has been stuck in the middle of the Republicans and Democrats in a tug of war, with both trying to have Swift on their side. However, earlier this year, the pop star made it clear once and for all whose side she is on. And the repercussions that followed were no less than a circus.

While the Democrats are making the most of Taylor Swift’s support, the other side has been launching a barrage of attacks at her.

Ever since Taylor Swift made her endorsement of Kamala Harris clear, the right-wing has left no moment to throw shade at the ‘Lover’ star. The VP candidate, JD Vance, took a swipe at Swift in a lengthy post on X, calling her "fundamentally disconnected from the interests and the problems of most Americans". Even Elon Musk posted, saying, "Fine Taylor- you win- I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life."

Donald Trump himself, during an interview on Fox & Friends, took a jab at Swift, saying, "She seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace." The former president also declared, "I hate Taylor Swift!" in a Truth Social post. But Swifties have managed to turn that hate into more fuel for Kamala Harris’s campaign- and raised a boatload of money in the process. Nonetheless, no matter the result of the presidential election, Taylor Swift is sure to be a huge player in it.
