Hours After Dua Lipa’s DC Rumors Squashing, Billie Eilish’s Name Soars for a Marvel Connection
It is about time to introduce a new pop-verse in the superhero realm. Turns out, everyone wants to see pop stars invading the superhero fantasy franchises. Not that it has not happened before, but with Taylor Swift’s rumored Deadpool & Wolverine cameo, the call for musicians to step into superhero roles has hit a whole new level. And the newest in the rumored cast roster is now the Gen Z pop idol, Billie Eilish.
This new Billie Eilish MCU rumor came right after another studio shakeup, where the boss himself debunked Dua Lipa joining the DCU lineup.

Billie Eilish made her acting debut last year with Swarm, where, naturally, she won over fans. So, it is hardly surprising to see her name spinning through the rumor mill for more acting projects in the future. But few expected the MCU to have its sights set on the singer-turned-actress- that is, if popular insider Daniel Richtman's claims hold water. However, he did not specify the role MCU is considering Eilish for.
Dua Lipa, one of Eilish’s fellow pop stars, found herself wrapped up in a similar swirl of rumors recently. It was being said that she would make her superhero debut in the DCU after the underwhelming Argylle. But it seems James Gunn has made it quite clear that none of the Argylle leads, well, except for John Cena, will be joining the DCU anytime soon. Billie Eilish, however, already has a special tie to the MCU.
While Eilish may not have lent her acting credits to the franchise, she has certainly graced it with some musical gems.

Billie Eilish has delivered some of the most memorable playbacks to movies and shows over the years, with Barbie being the most popular example. In the Marvel universe, Eilish has had two of her songs featured in the 2017 drama series Runaways. The first was Blackbear's remix of her song 'Ocean Eyes,' which appeared in the Runaways episode Doomsday and on the original soundtrack.
Eilish's song 'You Should See Me in a Crown' was the second track to make its way into Runaways, featured in the episode Last Rites and in the end credits of the Agatha All Along's episode, Darkest Hour / Wake Thy Power. Beyond that, she also lent her voice talents to ADR in the 20th Century Fox production X-Men: Apocalypse. It seems it may finally be time for her to step into the Marvel world as an actress too.
