Fans Go Berserk Over Ye’s 2011 Hit Popping Up in the First ‘Gladiator 2’ Footage at CinemaCon
Throughout the 21st century thus far, there has only been a handful of artists who have had an impact as vast as Ye’s, formerly known as Kanye West. His seismic influence on the music landscape has naturally found its way into a myriad of film and TV soundtracks. Whether it is an adrenaline-fueled action sequence or an introspective drama, Ye’s tracks never fail to enhance the cinematic experience. And now, one of his hits from 2011 has landed a feature spot in the upcoming movie, Gladiator 2.
At The Colosseum in Caesars Palace, Paramount Pictures rolled out the first trailer of Gladiator 2, treating theater owners to a glimpse of Ridley Scott's grand vision. From the footage Scott brought to the table in Sin City, Gladiator 2 had Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal watching Paul Mescal go toe-to-toe with a rhino, with 'No Church in the Wild' playing in the background. This song was one of Ye’s first take on religion and Christianity.
